Great news for all the people who had problems with this. Next step would be to try and see if you can get it backported as well. That would mean, that it potentially even could/might make it into 6.14 and 6.17 for Proxmox 9.

I hereby confirm that with the Linux kernel 7.0.0-3-pve, passthrough of both SATA controllers on the DXP8800 Plus works without any issues.

I am curious, why would you not just remove that special node from cluster in first place? "Full access" aka root with different credentials will break many (if not all) things, so there is no point to have that special node in your cluster... -

Do you mean the qcow feature introduced in PVE9? It's limited to snapshots (although main developer @spirit mentioned at some point that in theory this might also be a possible way to implement thin provisioning, but afik nothing happened since... -
What values do you get when running proxmox-backup-client benchmark --repository <your-local-repo> directly on the PBS? Note that chunk integrity is checked on upload and that the writes to the storage on PBS side are not the sequential pattern... -
