hey there, i just installed 5.0 from installer iso and ZFS is unable to load on boot now for some reason...

I constantly get

Code:
Sep 15 01:27:27 voltaxic systemd[1]: Starting Mount ZFS filesystems...
Sep 15 01:27:27 voltaxic zfs[625]: The ZFS modules are not loaded.
Sep 15 01:27:27 voltaxic zfs[625]: Try running '/sbin/modprobe zfs' as root to load them.

I even tried reinstalling thinking something went wrong. Has amybody come across this?

Hi,

You have to load the zfs kernel module.

This can be done with
Code:
/sbin/modprobe zfs

Sure, I understand that, but it only lasts until i reboot, then it doesnt load it again. Why isn't it being loaded on boot as it should?

Why isn't it being loaded on boot as it should?
Because you have no zfs pool and so it is not necessary.
If you load the module and create a pool the module will be always active.

That worked but is very unintuitive. Maybe put a note somewhere so people dont waste trying to fix this "problem".

All,

I get the same error during the installation on an HP DL380 Gen9 using latest ISO
The smart array controller is configured to HBA mode
The installer lists all physical disks.
The error appears, once I click on the "Install" button.
Only possible option is to reboot.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
luphi
