I am preparing a large scale CEPH cluster and was wondering if there was anything against installing my PVE on dedicated M.2 NVMe disks (2x 256GB - mirroring) using ZFS as the target OS.

Cluster will have four servers with each server designed with :

2x NVMe M.2 (for the OS --> ZFS)
2x NVMe 2.5" (CEPH)
13x SSD 2.5" (CEPH)

Since I like and know ZFS quite well, I was thinking to use It ?
It is "ok" or would you rather go for an install using EXT4… ?

I will limit ARC size and coupe of other small tunings.

There's nothing wrong with using ZFS and Ceph on one node, if that's what you're asking. ZFS as root in general works really well, I usually like to run all my nodes like that.

Ok - that was my question.
And since I also love using ZFS, I just wanted to make sure there was no limitation or anything "not recommended".

Thanks for your answer.
