ZFS bootet nicht

Hallo
Nachdem ich nun diverse Proxmox-Hosts mit Hardware-Raidcontrollern betreibe, interessiert mich nun ZFS.
Dazu teste ich lokal mit einem Server mit 4x 500er SATA-Platten - direkt angeschlossen (ohne Raidconroller).
Mein Problem: Installation Proxmox V4.4 klappt nur, wenn ich nicht mehr als 2 Platten einsetze!
Also:
ZFS Raid-1 mit zwei Platten: OK
ZFS Raid-10 mit 4 Platten scheitert
ZFS RaidZ-1 mit 3 Platten scheitert
ZFS RaidZ-2 mit 4 Platten scheitert

Beim Booten bleibt nur ein blinkender Prompt...
Kann es sein das die 4 GB RAM des Servers hier nicht ausreichen? Mein Testserver ist leider kein aktuelles HighEnd-Produkt (Supermicro Mainboard X7SBE, Xeon Dual Core E3110, 4096 MB ECC DRR2 667).

Ich muss korrigieren:
Das Booten funktioniert doch, aber es dauert mehrere Minuten mit das Grub-Menü sichtbar ist. Das ist leider unbefriedigend und ich weiss nicht woran das liegt.

ja die 4 GB RAM sind zu wenig aber ob es mit deinem Fehler zusammen hängt kann ich dir nicht 100% versprechen.

Ich habe mal gelesen das dies wohl abhängig ist von der Größe des Speicherplatzes in einem ZFS-Verbund.
Gibt es eine Faustregel wie viel RAM je GB/TB Festplatte man für ZFS verfügbar haben sollte?

vielleicht hilft ja ein Bios-Upgrade - Supermicro schreibt ja leider nicht (jedenfalls war es früher so) was sie gefixed haben...

Oja, Supermicro liefert seine Boards immer mit ner uralten Firmeware aus, warum auch immer, also auf jeden Fall upgraden. Da hilft auch der "nach dem Kauf Support".
