Hi Community,
after changing IP from my VM, the VM shows the old IP in the VM Ware Console. The ProxMox is working fine, but the wrong IP in the console is not good

"/etc/hosts" is fine
"/etc/network/interfaces" are also fine the correct IP

Anybody can help, where I can change the showing IP?

Thanks

hi,

Anybody can help, where I can change the showing IP?
you mean the IP that shows up when you boot into the terminal?

"/etc/hosts" is fine
"/etc/network/interfaces" are also fine the correct IP
did you try rebooting the PVE to see if it changes?

VM Ware Console
why do you use vmware?

The ProxMox
Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) ;) (not "ProxMox")

Correct, the wrong IP is shown in the Vm Ware Console,
Yes Rebooted, no Change
VM Ware only option when SSH failed (Backup Login), I want to have it clear

Sorry fpr ProxMox - correct is absolutely PVE :p

check the output of: cat /etc/issue (that's the file for the banner)

then try running pvebanner and check the file again to see if it changes.

if not, then please post the contents of /etc/hosts. btw, is this a cluster or a single node?

Hi,
are perfrect... in the File "issue" there is the wrong IP...

How can I run the command "pvebanner" ?? only type pvebanner in console said: command not found...

Thanks a lot

it should be there on the default installation. how did you install your PVE?

which version are you running? can you post pveversion -v output?

Have you tried to disconnect the network from VM and then reconnect it from the settings on the virtual machine?

Hi, I think something is wrong.
I use Prox Mox Mail Gateway...not the PVE...I was a little bit confused, sorry...

The ProxMox Mail Gateway was installed with the virtual Appliance from the website itself.

Thanks

that makes sense, sorry for the confusion... :)
(Proxmox Mail Gateway / PMG, not "Prox Mox" or "ProxMox" btw)
then try running pvebanner and check the file again to see if it changes.

if not, then please post the contents of /etc/hosts. btw, is this a cluster or a single node?

then please try pmgbanner :D

Ok,
thanks...

I tried:
cat /etc/issue --> wrong IP
then: pmgbanner
then: cat /etc/issue --> OLD IP again

Do I have to Reboot?

Thanks

I tried:
cat /etc/issue --> wrong IP
then: pmgbanner
then: cat /etc/issue --> OLD IP again
please post:

* /etc/hosts
* /etc/network/interfaces
* /etc/gai.conf

what was the old IP and what is the new one?

is this a single node or a clustered setup? (if it's a cluster, please also check /etc/pmg/cluster.conf file, and also the /etc/hosts for all nodes!)

was that pvelocalhost there in your /etc/hosts file or you added this manually?

in any case please take a look at [0]
