Windows Licenses when migrating from Hyper-V

Hello,
I have a few Windows 10 machines with retail Licenses keys running on a Hyper-V Server. Consulting several migration guides, it appears that only the vhdx file is converted and transferred, which (I believe) means the hardware ID of the hyper-V vm is left behind - meaning the windows license would be no longer valid on the new proxmox VM.

Can anyone confirm this is the case?
Just so I know if I have to budget for new licenses.

Thank you!

As far as the microsoft licencing gurus told me: only windows enterprise with software assurance are allowed to be virtualized and those do not have problems with reactivation on hypervisor change.
