Windows 2008 x64 regularly freezing on proxmox 1.5

Hi,

we run a Windows 2008 R1 x64 vm on proxmox 1.5.

That Windows machine is freezing about once a day which means that you cannot enter anything on the console or ping or rdp to that vm. Proxmox then shows a vm cpu usage of 104 %

We tried everything, virtio and ide, different nics, single-cpu und multi-cpu in the guest

Does anyone have an idea what we can do to prevent the problem ? What we can debug or what we can try ?

pls post the output of 'pveversion -v'

is this a migrated VM or a clean install?

This is a clean install.
BTW: That Windows vm uses a raw image, no qcow2 or such things

I am having the similar issue with my local test. I increased ram and cpu units but it freezes very rarely. I heard that linux guests are much better than windows ones. Or can this be related to kernel or KVM?

I am running 2.6.32 and have a few 2008 Standard (32bit) KVMs with fresh install, some single CPU, some multi-core and all are rock solid. They are SQL DB Servers, some of which get hit constantly.

I also have some solid 32 bit vms.

Maybe the Problem is that the guest making problems has a 64 Bit Windows 2008 OS ?
