whitelist checked against the Received headers

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and was wondering, are the whitelisted entries checked against a domain name in the received headers, by reverse DNS lookup? Or is it just a check on the string?

Well i was reading the Spam Quarantine Guide: http://www.proxmox.com/downloads/mail-gateway/documentation/26-spam-quarantine-guide
So there is question about a "personal whitelist".

What would be interesting is to whitelist a domain and be able to tell wether a message is forged or not.
