where is VPS file in server?

i have a problem with my server that i have to transfer my file via ssh.
i want to know where is the openvz's vps file located in server??

its not just one file, you can find the whole dir structure under /var/lib/vz.

if possible use a backup with vzdump to have a single file including everything.

my server is down and we run it with rescue.
can i do your advice with rescue?
and i want to transfer this Vm to another server that have esxi 4.1 .
is this possible ?

Do these errors always appear? I'm going to work with VPS files soon and try to guess will I have some problems or no.
