Hi I have a Proxmox box updated to the latest 1.8, kernel .24 i am having an issue though. Web interface and ssh stop working, i am unable to connect via web or by ssh. When i reboot i can get in through the web and also ssh but one day passes by and i can no longer get in? the machines running on proxmox can still connect to the network.

I think those services are just shutting off? I dont know how to fix this issue :( any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
MrDude

this is not the standard behavior, pls go through the logs and check for errors, also post the output of 'pveversion -v'

Ok "pveversion -v" output
Code:
pve-manager: 1.8-18 (pve-manager/1.8/6070)
running kernel: 2.6.32-4-pve
proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 1.8-33
pve-kernel-2.6.32-4-pve: 2.6.32-33
qemu-server: 1.1-30
pve-firmware: 1.0-11
libpve-storage-perl: 1.0-17
vncterm: 0.9-2
vzctl: 3.0.28-1pve1
vzdump: 1.2-14
vzprocps: 2.0.11-2
vzquota: 3.0.11-1
pve-qemu-kvm: 0.14.1-1
ksm-control-daemon: 1.0-6

I am in the midst of reading the sys logs right now. and will post what i find in the meantime.

I found the day that the problem occured but cannot remember the time that it happened. in looking through the logs i see some big gaps in time that occur i.e: first entry is:
Code:
Aug 6 14:27:02 prox proxwww[20010]: Starting new child 20010
Aug 31 07:34:39 prox kernel: imklog 3.18.6, log source = /proc/kmsg started.
Code:
Aug 31 16:25:01 prox /USR/SBIN/CRON[5628]: (root) CMD (/usr/share/vzctl/scripts/vpsnetclean)
Sep 2 06:27:14 prox kernel: imklog 3.18.6, log source = /proc/kmsg started.
Is That normal?

I dont know exaclty what to look for :( This is the last of the log of September 2 (that was when i restarted it and it was working) and then later that day it stopped working.
