That looks as if you installed proxmox-widget-toolkit from outside of the repos. The 5.1.5 version is not provided in the bookworm ones.
You can downgrade it but we'd have to kind of look at all the other packages too and this thread has become very off topic as is already.

Gives this error
Bash:
root@pve:~# apt install --allow-downgrade proxmox-widget-toolkit
E: Command line option --allow-downgrade is not understood in combination with the other options

Hi,

The 5.1.5 version come from Trixie (== PVE9) are you sur you have not misconfigured your APT repository at some point ?

Could you give the result of pveversion -v ?

Best regards

They have trixie in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/proxmox.sources so very likely. It's disabled though.

Might have to be explicit then
Code:
apt install --allow-downgrades proxmox-widget-toolkit=4.3.13
It seems some of your packages are partially upgraded to trixie through so at this point I'd recommend just fully upgrading to trixie or reinstalling.

MY HERO!!! After I installed this, my Web GUI finally came back to life!!!!

Hi,

You still risk having other problems; you have other packages which are in the Trixie version.

Best regards,

Proxmox 8 is based on Debian 12 Bookworm. PVE 9 is based on Debian 13 Trixie.
You should not be running PVE8 on Deb13, or PVE9 on Deb12. How you got into this situation we don't know. The cleanest way to resolve this is to backup your VM data and completely reinstall the system.

If I could get in and see what's going on, I would be able to backup the vm's ...

Any suggestions?

UPDATE

I tried everything but was unable to restart the web GUI ... most likely since I don't have the required technical knowledge to do it.

I ended up reinstalling Proxmox 9.1 and restoring all VM's from the backup.

Everything back to normal.
