Hello All,

Sorry for the newb question!

In respect to ProxMox Mail Gateway is there a physical VMWare appliance download, or are we really just downloading the ISO and installing on VMWare?
I didn't see anything obvious in the download section.

Just install the ISO, all should work out of the box. (choose Debian 64-bit as OS)l
 
Yes, that works, was thinking there might be an actual VMWare Appliance.

Is this still a thing? Importing OVA files into (your-hypervisor-name-here)-environments is still more work than just reinstalling from scratch for simple-to-install-and-configure-stuff like Linux.
 
In theory there are some very specific tweaks that are configured into an appliance to make it slightly more efficient.
Not like installing any flavor of linux is complicated.

What do you miss exactly? The kernel works great on vmware, you can also install vmware tools if you like.
