Vm storage as LVM

Hi
When we create a VM on the pxe, the harddisk for the machine shows as LVM volume when doing "lsblk". The thing is it is not mounted, thus it is not visible to the Debian (host OS). My question is, how come it is not mounted but used by the KVM?

Because if it is mounted - it is no longer a pool of semi-raw storage. It is now, most likely, a file system where files can be stored.
When its still in its "pool state" PVE is able to take slices of that pool and assign them to VMs as needed.
