VM partition tables going missing

Ive seen snippets of similar issues in other threads but with no definitive resolution.
We are running PVE 7.4.3 on a 3 node cluster with Ceph . Over the last 3 days I have lost 2 important VM's after reboot , with boot devices not being found.
One I have managed to restore from backup. The other , partiiton tables are not present for a few days.
We have an off-site PBS running backups daily, as well as localised backups to CephFS for important VM's daily for speedy recovery if required.
I fear this may happen to other VM's

Hi,
as mentioned in the bug report too, you could try using a tool like https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk to try and re-create the partition table. Are you using SATA for the VM's disk? It is highly recommended to use SCSI instead, because of better performance and because it's better maintained by QEMU developers.
