Hello,

I have a question about backup jobs.

How can I customize, in backup job, the order of virtual machines to backup?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
this is currently not possible, you could however create a dedicated job for a VM which must be backed up before all the others and schedule it accordingly. What is your use case for this?

If there is a good reason for such an option, you can also open a feature request at https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/

Hi,

It's to put the backups in order according to the importance of the virtual machine, from most important to least.
Obviously, I understand that it is totally subjective (in reference to the order of importance).
Thank you very much for the clarification and for your attention.

@Chris I also would like this kind of feature.

My problem is that I have a bunch of VMs (100,101) which rely on an exported drive from an LXC container (102, which runs an NFS server). The backup job backs up the LXC 102 last, and so the connection to the NFS drive in the VMs 100 and 101 is lost during the backup of 102, and is never automatically reconnected.

How can I fix this?

You could setup a backup hook script to shutdown 100 and 101 while 102 is being backed up.
