View Backup without restoring.

Looking at recovering files from a previous backup.
At the moment, I wait for a non busy time, do a restore to alternate location of the machine with required files. change the network card, this then changes IP so there is no clash. copy files. Shut down Restored VM and delete.
Is there another way to do this operation???

Please have a look at the vma command. You can extract your backup and get a sparse raw file which can be mounted via loopback
