[SOLVED] Using ISO from SMB Share

Hello, I have a PVE 8.2.2 and I have a Truenas on my LAN with a SMB share full of ISOs. I've imported this share in Proxmox and I'd like to use it without having to upload ISOs in it.

The problem is that Proxmox doesn't see the ISOs that are already in it. He can see that 44% of the share is being used but he can't see the files. Is there any way to make him see them without having to manually upload them all?

Hi,

it expects/searches for ISO images only in the template/iso directory on the share, see also the Directory storage layout table.

What's the current layout of your share, i.e. in what directories are the ISOs?

Indeed, I hadn't notice that Proxmox had created a template/iso directory. I moved them all inside and he can now see them.

If you want to use an existing SMB share without duplicating ISOs and using up your root storage, you can use symlinks:

Obviously edit the script 1st and point it to your local SMB mount
