Hello,

I just tried to install proxmox 1.6 using a USB CD-ROM drive, but it doesn't seem to work.

The system fails to mount the /dev/sr0 and leads me into the bash. If I manually load the USB2-Module (by typing "modprobe -r ehci-hcd") the device /dev/sr0 appears and its also mountable.

How can I reinitiate the proxmox-installation process? Or how can I load the usb-module (mentioned above) before the proxmox-installation starts?

Thanks in advance,
Sascha

do use the latest 1.6-5087-3 ISO?
yes

I switched off the BIOS-Setting "USB2.0 enabled" and it works... The installer found the cd-rom-drive after trying to mount a few times.

Nevertheless, I need to know a simple way to avoid/abort booting the computer straight forward into the proxmox installer gui. I just want to open a shell for doing some settings prior calling the proxmox installer-gui afterwards.

you type 'debug' at the boot prompt (that gives you a shell at several stages).

I just tried this with proxmox-ve_1.6-5121-4.iso and the installer is failing to find my USB CD Rom drive.
