upgrading node hardware

i was planning to add more ram to one of my pve 3.3 node.
do i have to reinstall pve?or it will detect automatically and get updated?
using supermicro 1012G-MTF

there is no need to change anything on the Proxmox VE software, all RAM from the physical hosts can be used.

What exactly you expecting to be updated?
There's no global options concerned with RAM. Host does not concerned about how huch RAM it has, it just uses all.
Configs of guests will not be updated automatically, so if you want guests to use more RAM after host uprade, you have to update their configs manually.
