update without reboot

What happens If I update the proxmox node but without the needed reboot (in a couple of days) ?
I'm asking this due to ZFS, what happens by updating the userspace packages but still running with the older ZFS module (due to the missing reboot) ?

normally nothing. with ZFS major versions, you will likely run into issues. it is still recommended to reboot after kernel upgrades.

Yes, i have to reboot in next weeks, just want to be sure, what happens if I update today and schedule a reboot in a couple of weeks or if should I wait for the scheduled maintenance window to update and reboot at the same time.
