Hi!

We are running 2 Proxmox servers since December 2020. This is my first .x update now.
Is it safe to simpy update the production environment via the WebGUI while VMs are running?

Regards,
Ingo

Usually yes, but if they are in a cluster, I tend to migrate all VMs away from the host that I intend to update, then I do updates, reboot and go the next node in the cluster.

While I've not yet updated to PVE 6.4, in the past version bumps within a major release are rarely causing any issues. (which is something I do appreciate with PVE). Upgrading from PVE 5.x to 6.4 or to an upcoming PVE 7 usually includes upgrading the base OS i.e. from Debian 9 to 10 in the case of PVE6 or Debian 11 in a future PVE 7 release.

Good to hear everything when fine on your end (same here btw).
Good stable updates should be "boring".
