Underscore not allowed in VM name ?

According to the documentation:

Name: a free form text string you can use to describe the VM

Attempting to clone an existing VM and giving it a name containing the character UNDERSCORE "_" makes the "Clone" button become inactive.

Is this correct and intended behaviour?
If yes, why is UNDERSCORE not allowed?

that description is wrong - the name option uses the 'dns-name' format, which is defined here:

I see. Indeed, that makes sense.
