We have server with the id 112 and snapshot named "BeforeDiskUpgrade", when I try to delete the snapshot getting the error as "rbd error: rbd: error opening image vm-112-state-BeforeDiskUpgrade: (2) No such file or directory", I tried to check from the snapshot from pool but it doesn't exist

rbd ls -l pool-name
rbd: error opening vm-112-state-BeforeDiskUpgrade: (2) No such file or directory

vm-112-disk-0 5 TiB

can anyone advice

Hi,
did you manually remove the snapshot? You probably have a leftover snapshot config in the VMs config. Please post the output of cat /etc/pve/qemu-server/112.conf. If you verify that there is no snapshots present for any of the VMs disk, you might be able to remove the snapshot by editing the config file.

snapstate: delete
So it seems that the state is still considered to be deleting the snapshot. Can you also post the task log for the snapshot delete task, did that run into errors?

It was some time ago, I think the snapshot deletion interrupted highway on the first time, and it is the issue, how can we fix it now

Backup your VM + config (just to be safe), and try removing the config section related to the missing snapshot. That leads to the snapshot not being expected to be present anymore.

Note: You leaked the cipassword hash for this VM and might want to rotate that. Even better would be to use ssh keys instead, as we also recommend in the docs.
