UEFI on ZFS using IBM x3550 m3

I wanted to start using proxmox 6.2 using ZFS. I already had IBM x3550 m3s but the raid controller didn't do the passthrough for the ZFS configuration I wanted to use. I then bought LSI 9240-8is. This allowed the 4 300gb SAS drives to be used in a ZFS raid 10 configuration. After getting past the point of installing proxmox on the hardware listed above in the ZFS raid 10 config, I ran into the following error "No root device specified. Boot arguments must include a root= parameter." See this link to view a similar message. https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/p...zfs-uefi-mode-no-root-device-specified.63752/

What I am wondering is there way to fix this or is the technology in the specific server I have the in between implementation of UEFI I am reading about? If this is the case is there another recommended way to use proxmox? For instance, 2 raid 1s or something else?

I have looked everywhere in the BIOS for UEFI only boot and when I set these settings it doesn't even boot into the error above. I would really like to use proxmox but can't afford newer hardware yet. Any ideas or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Hi,

ZFS is not compatible with HW Raid controller.
