OpenVZ is primaryly used for server OS containers, so the question is what you want to achieve/mean with "Ubuntu Desktop"?

I am going to set up one unbutu desktop for friends, to have a distant pc with NXserver or x2go

ok, got it. there were several attempts for building a "terminal server template" but so far nothing available out of the box. So you need to start with a basic ubuntu template and install/configure what you need.
see http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/X11_Terminal_Server which is still unfinished.

i tested this

Re: Ubuntu 9.04 desktop whith any nx server

Yes. In an OpenVZ container.

You can also install the ubuntu with comes on proxmox (no desktop) and intall the GNOME desktop environment group.

yes, its not that simple with OpenVZ. I suggest to go for KVM.

i mount one iso to kvm , is good in the kvm (panel )

i test unbutu desktop iso , is work

i not network for this !!

how configured this ?

Hi Tom,
There is a new project and the template is available. It is called
Ubuntu-Business-Desktop (OpenVZ)

This is a OpenVZ-Template witch can be used for a company. It's an adapted Ubuntu 10.4 with Neatx-Terminalserver and Webmincluster. It's easy to control the system with webmin. You never must use the terminal.

DOes it mean we need to install gnome on Proxmox server as well?
