Trying to make Ubuntu VM boot

So randomly, my Ubuntu VM (Plex server) just hangs at the Ubuntu page.

The HDD when I run the checks, do show some errors, however, it says it passes SMART. When I run my Ubuntu USB in Try mode, I can access and see all the files on the HDD in question file.
When I load gparted on the Try mode, I get this:

I am trying to run boot-repair as the errors are related to the sda boot drive as opposed to the HDD that has my data on it. It appears to be an issue with not booting properly. When I try to run boot-loader as a usb boot drive, I get a Bios Compatibility Mode error message. I am not sure how to disable legacy mode - Esc gives me boot options; shift doesn't give me any bios options. Is there a Proxmox setting I need to check?

Doesn't anyone have any ideas?

Should I just physically take out the HDD from the server and transfer the files to a new one?

It is not clear what you did. You ran checks on something and it had errors but passes SMART. Was it the host disk or the VM disk or a passed-in disk? You tried to boot from a USB, but again, what did you try to boot, the VM or the host? Maybe somebody could help if you were more clear about what the trouble is and what you did so far.

Because on the face of it there is something wrong with the VM but you are trying to fix the host.

Sorry, I will provide clarification.

Essentially my VM just stopped working and won't boot. It will hang at the ubuntu loading screen. When I run smartctl -a on the drive with the VM, I get this.

I am able to view the drive when I try to put a Ubuntu usb boot drive in and hit the "try" version. I seem to be able to access the files just fine.

I was going to try to run boot-repair, but when I run it as a usb, I get a Bios Compatibility Mode error message. I am not sure how to disable legacy mode in the VM - Esc gives me boot options; shift doesn't give me any bios options.

Other than that, I didn't try anything to fix the situation yet.
