We have a tape library connected to our PBS. It has 5 mailslots to import and export tapes. I was missing software to administer the location of tapes like in Veeam. Which tapes to export, come back and wearing of the tape. I could not find anything from PBS, only you can export a tape when a copy to tape is done. No message to pick it up, or ask for an tape to return. All technical information was available, but PBS does not sent a message to someone.
So I asked Claude.ai to make a tape library assisting software. Why keep it for myself?
If you also in need of tape handling software, have a look at https://github.com/tofkamp/PASTA
