Stuck during boot with "watchdog detected hard LOCKUP on cpu"

After the upgrade to kernel 6.8.4-2-pve my server is stuck during boot with "watchdog detected hard LOCKUP on cpu xy". I can boot again with the old kernel 6.5.13-5-pve normal after choosing it in Grub. Has anybody an idea what the source of this problem could be?

Hi.
PVE 8.2.2 (with kernel 6.8.4.3) solved the exact problem you have.

BUT : upgrading to 8.2.3 (kernel 6.8.8.4 breaks it again :-(

Hi, setting "intel_iommu=off" in /etc/default/grub fixed it for me. Need to check at some later point if some BIOS settings help to remove that from grub again or not.

Perfectly right. Adding intel_iommu=off does the job.
