Today, on a Windows 2012 Server virtual machine, I saw the following optional Windows Updates:
Before installing these, I did a Proxmox (stop) backup. Then I installed these updates and rebooted the virtual machine. After this, Windows 2012 would no longer boot to a login prompt; one of these updates (probably the first one) broke the virtual machine. Luckily, I was able to restore the backup I made, and I'm back up and running.
Here's my virtual hardware configuration (click to enlarge):
Mainly I'm posting this just to report it for others, but I'd appreciate any advise pertaining to how I might install these optional updates in a manner that doesn't break this virtual machine.
- SUSE - Storage Controller - SUSE Block Driver for Windows
- KB3102429
- KB3107998
- KB3112148
