Hiya,

I have an ibm x3650 running 4 sas disk in a raid 5 + 1 hot spare configuration and a ds 412+ synology box with 4 drives, 3 in an iscsi lun and the 4 one in a nornal volume.

Now up to now I had the lun running on normal 2 TB drive but a few days ago got 3 1TB sshd(hybrid drive) and now I can see randon IO errors in the backup.

Is anyone running hybrid drives in their environment or can the proxmox guys suggest if that even a good idea to get better performance or this is a bad idea.

Cheers,

Raj

IO errors points to faulty hardware - if you access via network, it can also be a network issue.

check your storage first. if you do not have any problems on your storage box, check the network - cable, switch, network settings.

and no, I have no experience with synology - we do not test consumer nas boxes in our test lab regularly.
