Hi,

I hope i'am in the good place to post :)
I'am trying Proxmox since 2 months before migrating my existing VMs from ESXI to Pve.

I have 2 servers:
one Intel on Pve 7.4.16 -> 24 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5670 @ 2.93GHz (2 Sockets)
and one AMD on Pve 8.0.4 -> 64 x AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 6376 (4 Sockets)

I have installed a win11 VM on each server.

On Intel, when i set 2 sockets and 4 cpus i got 8 Vcpu and when i start the vm, i have really 8 Vcpu
but on AMD, i set 4 sockets and 2 cpus, i got 8 Vcpu (same as Intel) but the vm show me only 4 Vcpu. I need to set 4 sockets and 4 cpus to get 8 Vcpus :rolleyes:

Does anyone know why this happens ?

Another thing i found frustrating, i use Spice on both of them, and with Intel server, Spice doesn't capture my mouse but on AMD it does, Why ?

Thanks for your help :)

Ok i reply to myself :)
Windows 11 support max of 2 sockets
For Spice i don't really know why it capture my mouse only on Pve 8.0.4 :oops:

Ok for Spice just forget to install Virtio-win-guest-tools :D
It just works like a charm now :cool:
