sockets or virtual cpus?

Hi together,

this may have been asked many times before, sorry: I want to switch from a free PVE installation to a paid one, as this fine software is worth it ;-). On my data center root server I have

CPU(s) 8 x Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz (1 Socket)

Kernel Version Linux 5.3.18-1-pve #1 SMP PVE 5.3.18-1 (Wed, 05 Feb 2020 11:49:10 +0100)

I assume, that I only need "1 CPU per year" (because its only one physical socket), not eight, correct?

License is per socket, so it does not matter how many cores
