Hi,
in a default Proxmox setup, how many space is dedicated to snapshot ?
If i have to backup with snapshot a 100G KVM-QEMU VPS,
what is the recomanded snapshot size ?
( so have i to use a manual setup of LVM partitions ?)

Thanks
Regards

Default is 16 GB, run 'pvs' and it shows the size (my example shows 19.5, custom setup):

Code:
pvs

PV VG Fmt Attr PSize PFree
  /dev/sda2 pve lvm2 a-- 1.82t 19.50g

Thank Tom,
In my default setup i see:

root@prx5:~# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/pve-root 95G 745M 89G 1% /
tmpfs 12G 0 12G 0% /lib/init/rw
udev 12G 228K 12G 1% /dev
tmpfs 12G 3.1M 12G 1% /dev/shm
/dev/mapper/pve-data 1.7T 197M 1.7T 1% /var/lib/vz
/dev/sda1 495M 34M 436M 8% /boot
/dev/fuse 30M 12K 30M 1% /etc/pve

Is it necessary /dev/mapper/pve-root 95G ?
Can i Shrink this pve-root volume to 20/30G ?

Best regards,
Enrico

I told you to run 'pvs', not 'df -h'.

shrinking of root is not possible. you should choose the right root size on installation.
