Hi all, i have a issue when installing proxmox on my local network. Every time i install Proxmox and go to the web gui my set root password isn't working. My setup isn't connected to the internet and i m using the PAM authentication. SSH isn't working as well. Thx for the help in advance!

Try setting a password, with NO special, foreign or Unicode characters. Also no spaces. You may be using some different/foreign keyboard/setting, from the time of installation vs the time of entry later. Show the password while you enter them, to confirm which actual password you are entering.

I used a German Keyboard and a exclamation mark in my password, i will reinstall proxmox and try without it.

I used a German Keyboard
Likely, this is the cause, as during installation, you may actually not know what is being set as your password. As I said "Show" the password. If you're unable to do this. Try setting a password with numbers only, this is "usually" universal amongst keyboards.

Thx that was actually the reason. I was able to login now. Manny thx <3

I do this always on CMD with "passwd", then you can choose every character.
