i had some trouble installing proxmox first with the resolution and messed up things like that finally got it to work (had to go with the 7.1 instead of 7.2) version now I cannot connect to the web GUI any tips would be very appreciated I am new to this and would love to learn thank you very much btw how I know it wont connect is on my routers end I do not see it

Please make sure you connect via https and on the correct port. i.e. https://your.domain:8006
Does the server respond when you ping it?
Can you ssh to the server?
Are there any messages in the syslog?

i made sure the connection with https and it is on the correct port
the server does not respond when I ping it
I cant ssh the server I do get this though

ssh: connect to host 192.168.100.2 port 22: Connection timed out

The syslog does not say much

Are you certain the PVE is connected to your router via a cable?
If yes, please share your output of ip a and ip r on the PVE.

I guess, in theory it could be. I reckon it more likely that there's an issue with your network configuration.
What is the ip address of your router?

so i also booted up the server today and the router said it connected the web GUI wouldn't work it was just blank but it wasn't the cant connect
SSH still doesn't work
and the router just randomly showed that it disconnected now very weird
I am completely lost on what to do should I try and just reinstall?

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : fe80::226:86ff:fef8:6c26%17
10.0.0.1
Based on your output your router is 10.0.0.1 and your Proxmox is on 192.168.100.0/24 . One of the two needs changing. If you set Proxmox host to static IP, you need to use proper network. If your PVE is using DHCP - examine you router for VLANs, DMZ and other weird configuration where Proxmox host is getting placed on wrong subnet.

Can you reinstall? Yes, of course. However this is a network issue and your client(Proxmox) is Linux. In 99.99% of cases reinstalling is not a solution.

So i need to change the gateway not the address right? or do I need to change both

Nobody here knows what is correct or wrong in your environment specifically. The two values you supplied do not make sense together. However there could be advanced environments where they may make sense together. An educated guess is that yours is not one of them.

You will need to do a bit more legwork to determine what your network looks like and what the PVE host should be set to.

Your problem is that you installed the PVE server with the default IP of 192.168.100.2/24 which means only another computer within the same subnet (so a computer that uses a IP that is between 192.168.100.1 and 192.168.100.255) can access your PVE server. If you want to connect it to your router, easiest fix would be to install PVE again using a correct free IP that is part of your routers subnet. So something like 10.0.0.2/24 (in case that IP isn't used already) as the IP for your PVE server with 10.0.0.1 as the gateway and 10.0.0.1 as the DNS server.
