Schedule Snapshot (Not Backups)

Is there a way to schedule snapshot jobs? I don't want full backups, but the smaller easier to manage snapshots?
I have a website that receive constant updates in which I need to snapshot the website every hour while retaining 48 or so snapshots

Hi, it's not currently possible.
But you can make a feature request in proxmox bugzilla.

in the meanwhile, if there is a cli command for that, you can obviously script and cron that.

Snapshot are internal in the storage or qcow2 file. So it's not a backup.

(Incremental backups should come this year)

yes, snapshot are a state, to which you can revert.

in the meanwhile, "qm help snapshot" is your friend... with bash and cron, of course ;-)

Sorry to resurrect an old thread.

There is a script for this functionality at https://github.com/kvaps/pve-autosnap. It works pretty well. Schedule it as a cron job.
