Hello everyone,

i'd like to know if it's possible to share the same VM between different users at same time....to better explain the idea see the figure below.
Thanks

Hi,

that will basically entirely depend on how you configure the Windows OS running within the VM, but theoretically, sure.

It depends what exactly you want to do and keep in mind that I can't assist you with Windows or how to configure it. So I cant tell you how to properly configure a Windows machine for multi-user support. Maybe describe your use-case a bit further, that would help.

My intent is to create a virtual machine with WIN10 on PROXMOX that can then be shared simultaneously by multiple authorized users (who can log in via VDI CLIENT).
The virtual machine on each client should act independently, e.g., if user A opens "Chrome," user B should not see "Chrome" open.

As @sterzy said this has nothing to do with Proxmox. In general, what you are trying to do is not supported. These are the google keywords that will help you learn more "windows 10 multiple users simultaneously rdp".

What you are trying to achieve is "server functionality from a workstation operating system" - its pretty well covered here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/a...ows-10-pro-a-multi-user-operating-system.html

Thank @bbgeek17

So that, if I suppose that 5 clients need to share a same virtual machine, the only solution is to clone 5 times the virtual machine, it's right?

Alternatively, is it possible to run from the initial BOOT of the THIN CLIENT the virtual machine located on the PROXMOX server? As if the client's physical HDD is located on the server?

Its one solution. There are many others, ie VDI, Terminal Server, etc.

Sure. Both approaches are outside of Proxmox "installation and configuration". But there are many articles online: https://www.parallels.com/blogs/ras/vdi-thin-client/

:(:(

Any suggestions on a tutorial for my requirement, which is to create a single virtual machine to be shared by multiple PCs simultaneously and independently?

If the users are just going to use the browser then you can always drop Windows 10 and use a Linux desktop VM. That should allow multiple users.
