[SOLVED] Restore VM backup on another PVE cluster

Hi,

I have 2 PVE clusters using the same Proxmox Backup Server.

Is it possible to restore a VM backup from one of the PVE cluster on the other cluster?

Thank you

As long as both clusters can access the same datastore and namespace that should be possible. You should be able to select the Proxmox Backup Server from the sidebar and then select "Backups". From there select the backup you want to restore and click "Restore" in the top bar.

Please be aware that if you let both clusters create backup for the same VM to the same datastore and namespace, you might run into trouble.

Thank you for your reply.

We have separate namespaces for our clusters. I added, on the cluster on which we want to restore the VM backup, a new Proxmox Backup Server storage entry. I specified the namespace used on the cluster from which the VM originates. From this new storage entry I confirm that I was able to restore the backup in a new VM.

Great to hear!
