When building a virtualized environment, I have an Asus Prime Z490-p motherboard (as shown in the picture) with 4 x1 pcie and 1 x16, and 1 x8 with a total of 6 pcie slots. However, after inserting the network card into the 4 x1 slots, it is found that the realtek network card that comes with the motherboard belongs to the same iommu group and cannot be directly connected to the virtual machine. I use the pve promox virtual machine, and the pcie acs override patch is useless(pcie_acs_override=downstream https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Pci_passthrough https://koolshare.cn/thread-166076-1-1.html).

Ask if there are any home motherboards. There are at least 4 pcie that can be passed through separately(I used for AX200 WiFi6 PCIE Network card). I hope it has been installed and tested. Thank you

my guess is that if you want proper iommu separation of many pcie slots, the only way is server grade hardware for xeons/epycs
since most consumer platforms only have a limited amount of pcie lanes connected to the cpu (e.g. 11900k has 20 pcie4 lanes)
in contrast to server cpus such as amd epycs with up to 128 pcie lanes that can be split properly
