Replace zfs boot disk

Hello!

I run PBS on a zfs RAID 1 with 2x 1 TB NVMe drives as the system / boot disk; I selected this option on install already.
Now one of the two NVMe drives died and I removed the disk and all is still working as expected.
I want to replace the NVMe now but with a bigger total capacity (2x 2 TB)
So which steps do I need to take to first create a new zfs pool with 1 + 2 TB disk and then replace the 1 TB disk with the second 2 TB disk?
Does this run automatically on boot when the new drive is detected?

Thanks!
