Hi

I am struggling with renaming some existing OpenVZ containers. I used the command
vzctl set XXX --name newname --save

It reports that the container was successfully renamed but in the ProxMox web gui it still has the old name.

Is there a trick I am missing?

thanks
Gordon

afaik the gui shows the hostname as name.

It appears not.
On my Centos6 container I changed the hostname in /etc/sysconfig/network
After a reboot the hostname in that file reverts back to the original name.
So is it generating that file from a proxmox container template somewhere?

or simply:

# vzctl set XXX --hostname newname --save

I have the same problem, I installed a Centos 7 CT, but I can not make the hostname change.

Could you help?
