Removing node from cluster which will have the same ip address but another operation system

Hello. I have a cluster with two nodes at Hetzner data center which are connected between with external IP addresses. I have scenario when I need remove one node from the cluster. Node that will be removed will be online and will have the same IP address, but it will have another operation system. Can I use standard removing node scenario so as if node is offline?

Thank you for your fast reply. Can I use this method?

1) I make a reinstall system on the node which I am going to remove then will shut down it

2) I remove the node from the cluster

3) I power on the machine that was node of the cluster (with fresh installed system)

yes, node1 and node2 are your nodes, where node2 is to be reinstalled with a different OS

1) backup and move all your VMs from node2 to node1
2) shutdown node2
3) reinstall node2 with the other OS
4) remove node2 from cluster (following the instructions on the link)
5) power on node2
