Hi team,

I had an iscsi linked to proxmox and there was an LVM on top of that iscsi.

I have deleted the iscsi but unfortunately still had a vm on it.

Now when I am trying to delete that VM from the gui, i get the following error:

"TASK ERROR: storage 'Datastore' does not exists"

Is there a way to remove that from the gui pls so I could restore that vm to the local storage.

Cheers,

Raj

just delete the VMID.conf file (see /etc/pve/...)

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I have exactly the same problem:
VMs were for testing, and I removed the vm images before removing them from Proxmox :(
(Running Proxmox v4.4 on Debian 8)

There is no "/etc/pve/VMID.conf" file - but "/etc/pve/.vmlist".
Yet, I am unable to edit that file at all. Even as root...

Oh!
"VMID.conf" meaning that "VMID" is to be replaced by the VM's ID. Got it now...

In my case it was called "/etc/pve/qemu-server/102.conf"

btw: I was able to remove the VMs through the GUI :)
Here's how:
The error I got was "TASK ERROR: storage 'local_pvedata' does not exists" - because I had removed "local_pvedata" intentionally (was testing-only).

So I just created a dummy "local_pvedata" storage as type "directory" pointing it to an empty folder I've created for this now.
Now "Remove" from the GUI works fine for deleting the VM.

:D
