Remove node from cluster and (how to) use it again...

Hello, the procedure of removing node from a cluster is clear for me, but I wanted to ask if it is safe to reinstall removed node and assign it the same name and the same IP that it previously had?

I have some standalone PVE node that I want to move VMs to other nodes at existing cluster, so I thought it would be possible to join this standalone node to the cluster, move VMs and then remove the node from cluster. But I want to reuse that node again after the procedure...

Yes it is safe as described in the documentation: https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/chapter-pvecm.html#_remove_a_cluster_node
You can't join a node that has VMs defined. If you force join VM configs will be lost. You can use backup/restore to move them.

Well backup and restore method is not the best one, transffering (TiBs of) data twice is just waste of time and bandwith, but looks like there is no other way, so I will have to go through that ).
