Remote sync interruption, partial data kept or retransfer necssary?

What happes when a remote sync or backup let's say with 2 TB size is interupted in the middle?
Does it transfer / backup all the 2 TB again or is the first TB saved so that it gets not transferred again?

any snapshots that were fully synced already are not transferred again. the last in-progress snapshot will pick up at the last chunk that was successfully synced, then the sync will proceed to the next snapshot (group). some manifests/indices might be downloaded again for the verification/to find out where to continue.
