Hi just curious if theres a way to recreate a VM config file if its lost/deleted ?

restore from the last backup.

so if there was no backup then what ?

If you delete files and you have no backup, then they are gone.

Maybe I am not sure if I understand your question ...?

1) get a new career, as managing IT infrastructures seems not to be right for you. :)

2) Re-build the settings from your memory/notes in a new VM, then update the config file to use the original machine's disks. At worst you'll have a new MAC address.

Hi,
if the VM is still running, you get a lot of info about the process list. EG. the mac-adress:
Code:
-device virtio-net-pci,mac=1A:C5:22:EF:6D:CF,netdev=net0,bus=pci.0,addr=0x12,id=net0
also infos about cores/cpus...

Dude it was a hypothetical question. If someone deleted a VM conf file and there was no backup is it possible to recreate it, thats all I asked. No need to make smarta$$ comments like that
