Hello,
I'm trying to set up a node to host a file server. However, by default, Proxmox is assigning nearly all of the storage space to the LVM volume. Since I will only be hosting one VM on this node, and that VM needs extensive storage space, I need to reconfigure the storage volumes. Despite reading and rereading the documentation, I still do not fully understand the default storage scheme or how to change it. Currently, /deb/sdb (which is 2.73TB) is being used for LVM and LVM thin. I only need 60-128GB for the VM, and the rest should be the virtual hard drive. I'm hoping someone here can guide me through how to correct this. An additional note, ZFS/CEPH is unfortunately not an option right now, as the disks are being managed by a hardware RAID controller, though I may switch the whole cluster over to CEPH in the future when the infrastructure is ready.
EDIT:
The disks were apparently retaining old parts of a CEPH system that were persisting through formats and Proxmox was grabbing onto it and creating CEPH pools. A full sanitize was required, which allowed Proxmox to set itself up with LVM.
