Hello to all

I am a new user of Proxmox.
I want to install proxmox 8.3 to a HP ProLiant DL160 G6.
The server have 4 disks of 2Tb each.

I try many time creating RAID 0 or RAID 10 to prceed with the installation but I always get errors on boot like the pictures below.
I also try to install without using a RAID and I keep not make it boot.

The error message varies depending on the RAID configuration.

Can anyone telling me what I am doing wrong?

Thank you

Welcome to the Proxmox forum, kouimtzis!

Have you installed in UEFI or legacy BIOS mode? Which disk setup do you want to setup? A ZFS RAID 0/10?

The error message varies depending on the RAID configuration.
Could you map the screenshots of the error messages to the RAID configuration that was selected?

Can anyone telling me what I am doing wrong?
The first screenshot's error message seems a little weird to me, since one stage of GRUB is to load kernel modules and check whether their licenses are compatible with each other... This shouldn't fail except if there's something wrong with the underlying disks or their setup.

Have you setup your hardware RAID controller with disk arrays? If you're trying to setup a ZFS RAID, it's highly recommended to set the HW RAID controller in HBA mode, so that ZFS can directly access the individual disks as it should [0].

Hello and welcome to the proxmox community.
You have an very, very old server. About 13-15 years?

The HP smart array B110i is not a real Hardwareraidcontroller. It is some mixed Fakeraid. So it can't work without special software. Buy a real Hardware Raidcontroller, with that the server would work normal. You should found some one on Ebay... or other stores. Please use only Hardware from HPE for HP-Servers. Check also the latest BIOS and Firmware Update.

Server has only BIOS mode.
I try to setup ZFS RAID 0/10
The first picture show the error message when I install Proxmox with disks setup as RAID10
The second picture show the error I get when I install Proxmox with disks setup as HBA

I buy the server used from ebay.
