[SOLVED] Questions about upgrading PVE 5 to 7

I have an old PVE 5 installation running on Debian 9 - what would be the safest way to upgrade?
Should I first upgrade Debian 9 to 10 and then to 11 and then PVE 5 to PVE 7 or is there danger there?

Any thoughts please?

please read both before doing the upgrades, and pay special attention to the respective 'preconditions' sections.
