[SOLVED] Question about Timezone after installation

Hello,
I just installed PVE 9 and set the time zone.

Is the time zone stored under "/etc/timezone" or somewhere else, and if so, where? Because "timedatectl" displays the correct time zone, but nothing is set under "/etc/timezone".
What is the "/etc/timezone" file for?

# cat /etc/timezone
cat: /etc/timezone: No such file or directory

# timedatectl
               Local time: Mon 2026-02-23 11:09:25 CET
           Universal time: Mon 2026-02-23 10:09:25 UTC
                 RTC time: Mon 2026-02-23 10:09:24

[SOLVED] Thread 'cat: /etc/timezone: No such file or directory'

On a new Proxmox 9.1 installation I noticed there is no timezone set anymore in the GUI.
When I run cat /etc/timezone I also don't get any output (No such file or directory), while on another older node this file exists.

Did this change with Debian 13.x or Proxmox 9.x?
